Australian Payments Network Summit
AUSPAYNET SUMMIT 2023
On 12 December 2023, more than 500 delegates attending AusPayNet’s sold out annual Summit. Themed ‘A Turning Point’, the Summit comprised a dynamic mix of interviews and panel discussions, reflecting on the critical juncture at which payments finds itself, particularly in the context of the Government’s release of its Strategic Plan for Australia’s Payments System.
Event highlights:
- BA Governor Michele Bullock made her first payments address since her appointment to the role (available here)
- The Hon Stephen Jones MP, Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services, participated in a panel discussion on the role of regulation in the prevention of scams. Appearing alongside the Minister were Sarah Court, Deputy Chair of ASIC, and Catriona Lowe, Deputy Chair of the ACCC
- A full day of insightful and topical presentations concluded with our Big Debate, which saw six speakers grapple with a timely topic – whether Australia should be cashless.
