Issuers and Acquirers Community
As the world of card payments becomes increasingly, our Issuers and Acquirers Community provides a forum for cooperation and collaboration among financial institutions, card schemes, and other participants in the cards payment system.
In Australia, commercial schemes provide debit and credit payment systems - the international credit and debit card schemes (Visa, MasterCard, American Express etc.) and the domestic debit card scheme, eftpos.
Each scheme administers rules and standards for participation in its particular system.
The Issuers and Acquirers Community (IAC) brings a wide range of participants and system operators together to develop, implement and operate effective standards, policies and procedures to support innovation.
We provide security rules and standards for the approval and operation of ATMs, POS terminals and other PIN entry devices that accept debit card transactions in Australia.
Evaluations must be performed by an Approved Evaluation Facility (AEF) for submission to AusPayNet for approval. A list of these facilities is available here.
These devices have been approved for use by the Issuers and Acquirers Community
