Consultation on Australia’s Sustainable Finance Strategy

In December 2023, AusPayNet responded to Treasury’s consultation on Australia’s Sustainable Finance Strategy.

In our submission, we noted the important role of every industry, business and individual in delivering on Australia’s transition to net zero. We highlighted our work with Members to better understand the environmental impact of the Australian payments ecosystem and that, through our research, we identified two key potential opportunities: firstly, the opportunity to drive greater sustainability in the payments value chain, and secondly, the opportunity for payment service providers to drive sustainability across the economy and society more broadly.
